'It's burning!' How Evelyn and Rupert's bathtub date took an awkward turn on MAFS 2023
The newest Married At First Sight groom, Rupert, has grappled with his nerves since the moment he laid eyes on his stunning wife Evelyn.
During Episode 15, the bride suggested an intimate couple's bath on their honeymoon in an attempt to break the ice – but it didn't go quite as romantically as she'd planned.

Evelyn prepared a seductive tub for two, scattering rose petals in the bath and donning a sexy white bathing suit, before calling Rupert in to join her.

"I'm happy taking the lead for now," she confessed. "I'm just trying to build his confidence."
However, the mere sight of his wife sent Rupert's temperature up several degrees.

"She is something else," he said, claiming he was "batting above my average." But when he attempted to slip into the bath alongside Evelyn, he really started to get a sweat on.
Literally.

Gripping a glass of champagne, the water temperature was clearly way too hot for the electrician, who remarked it was a bit toasty for his liking.
"Ease into it," Evelyn advised, admitting the bath was an attempt to get her shy groom "out of his shell" and "bring the fun."
Forcing himself to slide in, Rupert's face quickly became as red as the rose petals floating in the water.
"It's f--king hot in here though," he said. "It's kind of burning my skin."
The groom claimed the bath was too hot for his liking, and made a dramatic exit. Nine
"I like it," sighed Evelyn.

His brow beaded with sweat, the anxious groom battled to remain cool as he melted with nerves – and near heatstroke.
The pair made a half–hearted effort at some playful splashing, before Rupert panted, "Wow, this is getting rather hot."
Finally it was all too much – and he dramatically exited the tub mid-date.

Once again, Evelyn was left a little confused, as she remained in her now luxurious bath-for-one.
"It's our honeymoon, we should be annoying the neighbours," she lamented. "But it's just really not there yet."
