After settling into their marriages, the remaining couples have entered the homestay stage of the experiment. Friends and family have entered the picture, and the pressure is on to leave a good impression. Most notably, Charlene had to impress Ruby, and Davina had a lot of making up to do after her betrayal of husband Ryan.

We spoke to Relationship Expert John Aiken to find out the best way to make a positive impression and fit in amongst a group of new people. The first step, reveals Aiken, is completely in your control, “Dress well. Because people make impressions on what you look like,” he revealed. 

But it goes further. To make that all-important impression last, you’ll need to get involved.

“Ask questions, get outside of yourself and pay interest in what others are doing. At all times be respectful to your partner when you’re around their family and friends. Beware of the environment because they will be judging you and you have to be on your best behaviour,” concludes Aiken.

This week the couples spent their time with the groom’s families. But next week the brides take the lead as Australia’s biggest social experiment continues.
