'Even to this day': Richard has one unanswered question following emotional split from Andrea on MAFS 2024

EXCLUSIVE: There wasn't a dry eye in the room as Andrea and Richard said their goodbyes during the most recent Married At First Sight Commitment Ceremony.

But it was a long time coming for the couple, who were suffering a major disconnect after such a strong start in the experiment.

After trying time and time again to recapture their spark, Andrea and Richard both decided to leave.

In their exclusive exit interview – which you can watch in the video above – Andrea and Richard looked back on the undoing of their relationship and what their plans are following their split.

When Andrea and Richard met at the altar, sparks – no, scratch that – fireworks exploded.

Andrea looked back at their wedding day fondly saying Richard had "the warmest face".

"We were a great match, had amazing chemistry, were great friends. We just hit it off really well," Richard said.

"Those first 10, 12 days of the experiment were just 10 days that I'll never forget in my life."

But all good things must come to an end, and eventually they did for Andrea and Richard.

As the couple got to know each other, Andrea said, "there wasn't just one ick with Richard, it was a few things and I was trying to work through them".

"It was little thing after little thing and I think Richie just got frustrated because he wanted what we had," she explained.

One of those 'little things' was during Intimacy Week when Richard was "very vocal about [their] sex life in quite a harsh way".

While he apologised for it and never spoke about their private life in the same manner again, Richard said he believed Andrea was never really able to get past it.

It's a question that remains unanswered for Richard.

"Even to this day I still don't really know why. I'm still not clear on it," Richard sighed.
