Exclusive: Carolina and Daniel open up about their relationship after Commitment Ceremony bombshell
In a moment never before seen on Married At First Sight, the Commitment Ceremony was rocked with a couple that no one knew about arriving together.
After Jessica ended things with Daniel, he pursued a connection with Carolina, who was still in the experiment with Dion — despite their relationship struggling.
When Carolina and Daniel arrived together it was clear none of the other couples or even the experts had any idea they had been seeing each other, and it led to a mass walk-out from the group.

In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment the couple opened up about how they felt before arriving and why they thought the experts would give them a chance. You can watch it all in the video above.
"The lead up to walking into the room to kind of expose that we've been seeing each other. I was s---ing myself," Daniel said.
"I had to try and stay strong, for Carolina as well — we knew we were gonna face the firing line."

Their arrival was by far one of the most controversial moments in the show's history, with the participants furious and the experts completely baffled.
"He had the idea first but I was completely on board with it," Carolina said of their proposal to re-enter the experiment as a couple.
"We were just like, it's now or never. Let's just do it and take the risk and hope for the best."

The reaction they got made it clear no one was going to accept this new relationship, with many in the group standing up for Dion.
"I try to be positive always, so I was hoping for the best," Carolina said.
"I knew that there was a big chance [the experts] would say, 'No'."
It was a big no from the experts too, with John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla delivering a brutal response to the announcement they were together.

"There is absolutely no way that we're going to allow you to re-enter the experiment as a new couple," John told them.
"I knew walking into the room and confronting everyone, there's nothing that we can do or say that is gonna have people, I don't know, neutral, with our decision," Daniel added.
Carolina continued, "We were just hoping that they would see, you know, that there's a connection here."

She admitted she could have handled the situation better, although believes she was always honest with Dion and didn't play with him or lead him on by writing 'stay'.
"As soon as something started happening with Daniel, I wrote 'leave'. We thought this would be taken into consideration and maybe they would give us a chance," she said.
Daniel admitted they took a risk and it hurt Dion in the process, but he knew in his heart that Carolina was worth pursuing.
"I just had this overall feeling that this was right," he said.
