Booka revealed that they both remain on good terms.

"Brett and I have left and we are friends," she told 9Entertainment. "It's easier to be friends when you no longer feel that romantic attraction to them anymore. Weirdly we hooked up last week [at the Couples Retreat], but I think that drummed home for me that I didn't feel right for me anymore."

Booka revealed it was Patrick's letter that led to their downfall, due to the bride seeing the letter as a reflection of what Brett had said about her to others.

"What ultimately led to Brett and I having to separate was when I found out that Brett had been saying things about me that I found to be really cruel and unfair. Even though he tried to explain that it was just his feelings and he was venting to his mate, that I completely understand," she said.

Booka detailed how the letter impacted her.

"It made me feel ashamed that I'd shared my proudest moments with him," she admitted. "I'm a pretty big self-critic if anything, but I am really proud of the things I had achieved. So when I started to feel embarrassed and upset that I'd even bothered to share anything, it was never going to recover from that point."

Although there were rough moments in her relationship with Patrick, Booka still had many "amazing moments" and "highlights" in the experiment.

"I met people who I'm going to have in my life for the rest of my life. I've shared something incredible and unique with these amazing people. That in itself is a huge highlight," she said.

There was one day in particular that stood out.

"I think my wedding day was a highlight for me. We had the most beautiful, perfect introduction to our relationship. I definitely wish that I could have done a few things differently but I think I did OK," she said.

Booka explained that she learnt a lot about herself and relationships during her time in the experiment.

"I know now that just because I might have these feelings that a relationship is over. If I actually push through and really work at it then I might be able to get those feelings back," she said.

While she didn't find love with Brett, Booka is walking away from an experience she'll look upon fondly.

"My MAFS journey was profound, chaotic, and brilliant to be honest," she said.
