Commitment and frustration: Shelby leaves with no regrets

She was the laid-back girl with a loathing for lie detector tests, who managed to get so close to the finish line despite being one of the last girls to enter the villa.

Shelby was the girl all of Australia had been waiting for – for Jaxon. We wanted him to find love and the two seemed perfect together.

Everyone warned Jaxon to take things easy and chill out about his interest in Shelby.

So chill did he become, that Shelby started looking elsewhere… and she couldn’t deny a physical attraction to Dom.

You want physical attraction Shelby? Jaxon will give you physical attraction!

But despite his smooth moves, Jaxon’s feelings for Shelby seemed to have gone from chill to cold.

Then things went really wonky when it was revealed Jaxon had talked smack about Shelby behind her back – something Eden felt compelled to tell her about. Shelby took Jaxon to task about it immediately.

While she accepted Jaxon’s heartfelt apology, things were never the same between the pair.

And Shelby admitted she didn’t think he was that keen on her after all. He couldn’t even remember her favourite colour was pink, after all.

 

It was adios for Jaxon… opening the way for Shelby to immediately crush hard on Dom.

 

The two had a natural “flanter”, playful, cynical, he even developed a cute litte habit of kissing her on the nose.

They seemed to really like each other – aww, could Shelby be Dom’s first ever girlfriend?

 

But for the second time, Shelby was left blindsided by a boy, when a lie detector challenge proved that Dom was really just in it “for a root.”

Shelby was well and truly over it.

But she was willing to give Dom another go.  

And ultimately, was stoked to be leaving on good terms – with the Islanders, and her man. “I’m so excited I get to leave with Dom,” she said happily.
