Josh and Cassidy – from hurt to happiness?
Josh and Cassidy have been gently flirting around each other for a few days now. The main connector between the two has so far been the fact they were both majorly blindsided by their last partners, Tayla and Grant. But has this attraction started to turn into something beyond convenience and mutual hurt? It seems so!
Things started to sizzle at the pash challenge. The pair both admitted they were taken by surprise by the natural chemistry they felt when they locked lips – and tongues. Cassidy had previously viewed Josh almost in a brother role (her words), but the saliva swapping sent things in a distinctly less familial direction.
“He’s sort of been, not even friend zoned, but brother zoned. But I was just like…” Cassidy trailed off. “[It] shocked the sh*t out of me!” In return, Josh described her as a very passionate kisser too. “#letsspendanightinthehideaway!” he said after the smooch, adding that he would score her a 9/10 for her abilities.
“I think I have a crush on Josh,” Cassidy admitted to Erin who said it was very clear. “If they are your feelings, you cannot keep it inside,” she advised. “You’re having feelings, why don’t you express them? … You won’t know until you do it!”
“He’s sorta been right in front of me the whole time,” Cassidy admitted.
Erin waited approximately one second before sussing out how Josh felt. “I think [Cass] is just afraid of rejection,” Erin told Josh. “There’s definitely potential,” Josh said, adding he too was afraid of rejection and didn’t want Cassidy to like him simply because he was “the best of a bad bunch”.
Love Island logistics were about to play their hand. When Josh was voted as second most in need of a date – and therefore eligible for a date, of course – he wasted no time choosing Cassidy.
Oh, what’s that? The doorbell? Fancy that!
But even the arrival of a sexy newcomer Mac didn’t immediately derail the crush.
Cassidy encouraged Josh to follow his interests, but he shot back, “I had a really good date with you today and I want to stay with you.”
Cassidy advised him to be true to himself but couldn’t help adding, “I know it’s hard for us, we’ve literally just started, but I would be sad if I didn’t get an opportunity to see…”
“To see what happens,” Josh finished. “She’s not my type. I would rather crack on with you.” The pair joked they had a full hour of a relationship developing – forever in Love Island!
Cassidy was immediately aware of the threat at hand. “We’re so similar. Blonde hair, blue eyes, big boobs and she’s a little bit curvier than me,” said Cassidy. “The power sorta lies in Mac’s hands right now.” She nervously pondered the fact she could end up eliminated in a recoupling. “I just hope that’s not the case because I really do want to see where things could lead with Josh,” she admitted. “She would have to be a real asshole to want to go and rock the boat this early. To go and recouple with him after I have made it obvious – she would just be an asshole.”
“Today was so perfect with him. I feel like I am finally getting what I want,” Cassidy shared. “He is a man of his word – that’s one thing he has proven time and time again in here.”
But will he keep his word when it comes to following his heart? Those storm clouds gathering over the Villa don’t bode well…
