'What have you done?': Hamish Blake lifts the lid on hilarious 'dress as your partner' dinner party with wife Zoë Foster-Blake

Hamish Blake and his wife Zoë Foster-Blake are known for throwing epic themed parties.

But speaking on his podcast with Andy Lee, Hamish revealed their most recent one got a little out of hand.

On the latest episode of the Hamish & Andy podcast, the LEGO Masters host explained that he and Zoe recently hosted a 'dress as your partner' dinner party.

Hamish explained that Zoe got the idea from a trend making its way around social media where couples dress up in one another's clothes.

While the initial unveiling of the couples had the group crying with laughter, Hamish revealed that some problems arose as the night carried on.

"What you don't see on Instagram is that for the next few hours you're in character and then it turns into a role play therapy session of 'Hey, this is what I think you act like'," Hamish said.

"It ebbs and flows with laughter and then it gets to a point where it's like 'OK, that's enough.'"

For Hamish and Zoë , the night got tense early in the evening as the couple scoured through each other's wardrobes looking for something to wear.

"I tried to squeeze into a dress and I heard a stitch rip," Hamish said. "At that point Zoë was like, 'What have you done?'"

Realising he was chartering dangerous territory, Hamish chose to avoid the more expensive items in Zoë's closet.

To impersonate his wife, Hamish settled on a psychedelic patterned top, denim skirt and a handbag full of face masks from Zoë's skincare brand Go-To.

"I was happy with my outfit, I think I did a pretty good job," Hamish gave himself a pat on the back.

When it came to Zoë's portrayal of Hamish, the TV personality laughed as he admitted it "wasn't flattering".

Zoe was dressed in golf gear from head-to-toe as she did her best impersonation of her husband.

"There was a lot of standing at the top of the table waving her arms around like 'Guys, let me tell you about my golf shot,'" Hamish recalled.

"People are drinking martinis and so they get a bit confident in pushing the boundaries of their character," Hamish laughed.

"I don't think we instigated any divorces."

"I imagine it's the kind of dinner party where there a lot of discussion on the way home," Andy giggled.

In the past Hamish and Zoe have hosted an array of themed celebratory bashes including a 1960s party to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary and a Las Vegas extravaganza to mark Hamish's 42nd birthday.
