Everything you need to know about LEGO Masters Bricktacular 2026

Get ready for a monumental showdown as LEGO® Masters returns for 2026, with a huge twist – and it’s unlike anything the show has done before.

The 2025 TV Week Logie Award winner for Best Competition Reality Program returns for its eighth season with a Bricktacular and jaw-dropping twist: for the very first time, fan-favourite brick builders from Australia and across the world battle it out in teams of three.

LEGO Masters Australia Season 8 premieres Sunday, July 5 on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Hamish Blake, Sophie Monk and Brickman are back, and this time they’re bringing the most stacked line-up in the show’s history.

Across the four episodes, this special event will feature four of the most powerful entertainment worlds of all time – The Lord of the Rings, DC Heroes, Bluey and Jurassic World and $100,000 on the line for the team crowned the world’s greatest LEGO Masters.

With 4 million bricks in the Brick Pit, here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 teams.

Meet the teams

Jackson, Alex T and Fleur

Since their victory in Season 2, Jackson and Alex T have continued to thrive together with their immersive touring exhibition, Relics – a groundbreaking display of LEGO minifig-scale scenes nestled inside real-world objects. Relics has toured across the country, merging art with nostalgia to produce a format that’s unique and critically acclaimed.

Joining forces with them for the first time is Fleur, who won hearts during her appearance on LEGO Masters Season 3. She later appeared in the festive Brickmas special, where she teamed up with interior designer Darren Palmer to build a Christmas turkey being cooked inside a Christmas cracker – her most fun build to date!

Together, this trio forms a powerhouse team where each member brings a unique skill set: Fleur contributes bold storytelling, creative flair, and visual harmony; Alex offers engineering brilliance and technical mastery; and Jackson offers conceptual depth and a true artistic vision.

These two boys have been gagging to get back on LEGO Masters, and we know that Lord of the Rings is Jackson’s favourite movie. It might win them the first challenge, but will they get lost in their art? With Fleur’s level-headed approach, she’ll be pulling them back into line.

Trent, Alex G and Felix

Trent & Alex G first joined forces in Grand Masters of the Galaxy and returned for a second time together. Trent loves his characters, and we know there’s a few in this series of LEGO Masters. He has graced the show three times, coming heartbreakingly close to victory twice – placing third in both Season 2 and the recent Grand Masters of the Galaxy season.

Alex G is a standout star of the LEGO Masters Australia universe, holding the record for the most hours ever spent building on set – an incredible 475 hours (and counting!). Over four series, viewers have watched Alex evolve into an expert builder with her signature style being vibrant and unmistakably her own. With both Trent and Alex G as perennial finalists, it’s time to step up and Felix might just be the magic ingredient to a winning formula, as long as he’s not too distracted by Hamish’s fun and games.

Felix joins Trent and Alex G for the first time. Bursting onto Australian screens in LEGO Masters Australia vs The World, already holding the title of LEGO Masters Germany Champion.

Together Trent, Alex G and Felix form a dynamic and highly complementary team: Trent’s character focus and storytelling evoke personal connections, Alex’s vivid creativity infuses every build with life and humour, and Felix delivers dazzling fantasy worlds with flawless skill.

Jordy, Michelle and Max

For the first time in LEGO Masters history, Michelle, Max and Jordy team up together. Michelle is a true LEGO Masters all-star, making her mark initially in the U.S. as a semi-finalist and then making history in LEGO Masters Australia vs The World as part of the first-ever all-female winning team (with Krystal).

Max was the youngest competitor in LEGO Masters Australia history, competing with his dad on Season 4. Jordy is known specifically as a LEGO fan favourite, appearing across every season of the show (in some humorous capacity), but this time, he is back to build!

As a winner, Michelle knows there’s more to LEGO Masters than setting world records for sprinting to the Brickpit (Jordy!). Hopefully she can bring some discipline to her younger compatriots.

Together, Michelle, Max, and Jordy form an energetic and exciting trio. Michelle contributes her refined style and sophistication, Max offers a whole fresh perspective and maturity beyond his years, and Jordy brings structure, strategy, and talent. With their combined skillset and chemistry, this team is perfectly poised to stand out and deliver builds that are truly unforgettable.

Oskari, Aura and Gabby

Oskari and Aura made waves in their home country of Finland when they won LEGO Masters Finland in Season 2. They later brought their expertise to Australia for LEGO Masters Grand Masters of the Galaxy, where their creative synergy and distinct building styles stood out. Aura, who utilises her architecture studies with LEGO builds, injects her builds with her wild imagination, charming narratives and whimsical characters.

Joining the Finnish duo for the first time is Gabby, making their team name, “Finnstralia”. Gabby is a LEGO Masters fan favourite and four-time competitor. Known for her bold use of colour, dynamic minifigure storytelling, and visually striking builds, Gabby brings her energy, experience, and personality to every build.

Finnstralia is a powerful mix, while Gabby can be a worry wart, Oskari, well he’s a bit of a loose unit, Aura’s the glue or the reasonable one. With their strong builds and impeccable craftsmanship, the sky’s the limit for this trio.

The hosts and judge

Gold Logie winner and eight-season host, Hamish Blake, returns with his signature wit and charm. Sophie Monk is back as guest judge with her endearing presence and sense of humour. And Brickman (Ryan McNaught), the only LEGO Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere, is once again the resident expert and judge and he says the Season 8 trophy is the best he’s ever built.

One thing to watch for: all three hosts will be dressed in character for each episode’s theme. Yes, really.

On Monday nominations for the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards were announced with LEGO Masters Australia: Grand Masters of the Galaxy being nominated for the Logie for Best Competition Reality Program. Hamish also nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter. Voting is open now.

The challenges

The four episodes each draw from a different iconic universe:

Episode 1: The Lord of the Rings – Teams tackle landmark scenes from the trilogy using forced perspective, with 10 hours to bring Middle-earth to life.

Episode 2: DC Heroes – Teams build moving window displays featuring assigned DC characters including Batman, Supergirl and Lobo. The public votes for their favourite.

Episode 3: Bluey – Teams design a brand new Australian “Big Thing” landmark for Bluey’s family road trip, built in the aesthetic style of the beloved animated series. One team will be eliminated.

Episode 4: Jurassic World – The grand final. Three teams tackle a giant LEGO island shaped like the Jurassic Park logo, each bringing a different era of the franchise to life. The winner takes home $100,000.
