With four new international teams competing on LEGO® Masters 2024, host Hamish Blake wanted to make an impression.
So, he called in the big guns – Australia's own 'prime minister' to do the official welcome address.
At least, that's what the international teams thought was happening.

In a hilarious prank, which you can watch above, Hamish introduces Aussie comedian Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli as his very special guest.

The teams gasped as Wippa walked through doors wearing a sharp blue suit. As Wippa began talking, their reactions were priceless.
"I was so surprised that we met the prime minister," beamed Ida from Team Denmark. "I was like, 'When am I ever going to meet the prime minister of Australia?'"

Felix and Annalena from Team Germany however were very confused.

Speaking to cameras, Hamish spilled the reason why the real Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, couldn't make an appearance.
