Highlights:

After island hopping through Greece, Emerald Azzurra delivered Sam to the exotic, historic, Turkish Riviera, a coastline known for sea, sand, sun and culture.

On the small island of Bozcaada, Sam enjoyed strolling the cobblestone streets of the quaint village of the same name. An impressive 15th century castle stands as a reminder of the rich times of the Ottoman Empire, and is one of the best preserved fortresses in Turkey. The island is also known for its beaches, windmills, and centuries of viticulture. On the historic waterfront, Sam visited a family run restaurant which has been involved in the local wine industry for generations. The dry white wine she tasted paired well with freshly caught seafood, and the fruity red was clearly influenced by the sea-swept, dry climate.

Even with the optional on-shore excursions, there was still plenty of time to relax and indulge onboard. With a maximum of 100 guests, Emerald Azzurra has a boutique private yacht vibe. The 5-star experience extends from the well appointed suites through to the on-board dining. The casual Aqua Pool Cafe serves tasty flatbread pizzas, and the buffet lunches at the main restaurant, La Cucina are truly decadent.

Emerald Azzurra navigated the Dardanelles Strait and wrapped up the journey in Istanbul. Culture, history and even continents collide in one of the most fascinating cities on the planet. The former ancient capital of the Roman Empire has a huge number of impressive buildings and striking monuments. Sam was in awe of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Istanbul also lays claim to the largest and oldest covered market in the world. The Grand Bazaar which opened in 455, has around 3,800 shops selling everything from rugs to jewelry, and crafts to spices. Attracting up to 400,000 visitors a day, Sam found relief from the crowds at a cafe sipping traditional Turkish tea.

Istanbul's rich past meets contemporary culture in a spellbinding clash of noise and colour. It was a fitting end to Emerald Azzurra's Vibrant Greece and Turkey luxury cruise, a magical experience that Sam will treasure forever.
