Best Margaret River spots to see on a road trip
Local Western Australia boy David Genat joined the team to head to what he calls "Douth". In WA terms that is, down south and for a summer road trip there is nothing better than Margaret River.

Margaret River is where the surf meets wine country meets the forest — there truly is something for everyone in this beautiful corner of WA.
The water is clear and the beaches are beautiful so first up David checked out Gnarabup beach for a bit of stand up paddle boarding. The conditions are perfect and it's more secluded and less busy than some of the other Margaret River beaches.
White Elephant, at Gnarabup beach, is a great place for a big breakie after a morning out on the board. It's hard to pick which is better — the food or the view!
The farmers markets are held each Saturday in Margs and is the best place to taste all the local produce this area is famous for.
But you can't visit Margaret River without heading to a winery and Cape Mentelle is a great option. They offer tastings of the different varieties but in summer they also have movie nights so you can sit under the stars, enjoy some lovely food and wine and watch a good flick.
