Lincoln made the trek to a lookout, noting that despite the effort of the climb, the panoramic view was worth every step. These vast, rolling mounds earn their sweet name during the dry season, when the grass covering them turns a rich, chocolate brown.
Just an hour’s drive from these iconic hills, Lincoln encountered the island’s most famous residents: tarsiers. These tiny, nocturnal primates are among the smallest in the world, often no bigger than a tennis ball. Protected within an eight-hectare sanctuary, the tarsiers spend most of their day resting,
active at night when their elastic legs allow them to jump up to five metres. Lincoln found their appearance to be a captivating mix of cute and just a little creepy, resembling something like a real-life gremlin.
To round out his trip through the countryside, Lincoln embarked on a cruise along the Loboc River. This journey through lush jungle surrounds offered more than just scenery; it was a chance to enjoy a buffet of Filipino specialties while taking in local culture.
