'An immediate click': Olympia and Charlotte on their 'love at first sight' friendship after meeting on The Summit 2024

When Charlotte, a 35-year-old nurse from New South Wales, and actress and model Olympia Valance met on the first day of The Summit, it was "love at first sight".

"We just locked eyes and introduced ourselves, she had this little red beret on and I had this full face of makeup," Olympia recalled in an interview with 9Entertainment.
"We are just inseparable and it's just so amazing to have someone on a show like The Summit where you're so vulnerable and you're so scared."

Charlotte said talking about how special their relationship is "makes [her] want to cry".
"It's just an immediate click," she said. "It felt like my head was underwater, and then I met her and I got a big breath of oxygen."

Charlotte was "born with half an arm" and said Olympia "saw her for who I am, a complete person".
"Not a walking disability advocacy or poster for inspiration. Me having a job, me trying something – that's not inspiring. That is what everyone does, and that is what everyone is on this show to do. There was a deep understanding and no explanation around that was necessary. She just got it."

Olympia, who said she needed The Summit to "move on to the next chapter of [her] life" after struggling with infertility, said having someone she had "100 per cent trust in and felt safe with" is incredibly helpful in tackling the physical and mental challenges of the show.
"We would be nose-to-nose at night talking about life and boyfriends and our family and challenges... talking about really deep stuff," she said.

Charlotte and Olympia's bond was evident from Episode 1, when they formed a 'nub club' alliance with footy star Mat Rogers. Watch that sweet moment here:
