Traveller slammed for 'sneaky' trick to avoid excess baggage fees at airport
Everybody knows the frustration of being slugged with extra baggage fees at the airport check-in desk.
Heavy packers often find themselves forking out another $100 before boarding their flight, as their bags exceed the maximum weight limit.
But one woman had devised a sneaky hack for avoiding these irritating fees.

Model and comedian Nina Marie Daniele shared a video on Instagram of her checking in to a flight in the US.
In the now-viral video – which was captioned "how to avoid overweight luggage fees" – Nina stood with her foot underneath her large suitcase as it sat on the scale.
She tried to busy herself in front of the check-in desk, acting nonchalant as she attempted to lighten the load of her heavy baggage.
Nina claimed the ticket woman "didn't notice" the fact she was using her foot to make the suitcase seem much lighter.
"For all of our over-packers out there (all of us)," Nina captioned her reel.
However, it seems not all of Nina's followers were quite so impressed with the travel hack.

Many claimed there was a reason bags have an overweight limit and said it could be dangerous to lie to check-in people about their extra kilos.
"Bag weight limits exist to protect baggage handlers, who are contractually obligated to lift and move bags 50 lbs or less," one person wrote.
"It is for their safety that we should try to stay within that limit. The fees charged for going over are meant to discourage us from over packing."
"Ok yes but then I would spend the whole flight worrying the plane will crash bc of my unknown heavy suitcase," another added.
One said: "How to throw out the backs of the folks who load the planes."
Meanwhile, other followers said the airport staffer likely knew exactly what Nina was doing – but she probably isn't paid enough to call her out.
"More like they don't pay her enough to care," one woman wrote.

Another added: "I'm sure they notice the scale fluctuating back and forth cause she can't keep her foot still lol."
According to Luggage Forward, there is a very real reason airlines charge extra fees for overweight baggage.
Airlines are reportedly under pressure to offset the cost of rising fuel prices and will charge excess baggage fees to customers in order to help with this financial stress.
Aircrafts also need to maintain a maximum take-off weight.
Humans and their luggage comprise 20 per cent of the entire weight of an airplane, so they need to be aware of any extra kilograms before take-off.
