Top 10 travel destinations trending on TikTok revealed in new study
Whether you're deciding on your next city break, planning a short trip after finishing university, or mapping out a multi-destination trip in a new country, TikTok is definitely now a tool used for travel inspiration.
In fact, recent research revealed 46 per cent of Gen Z travellers turn to the online platform to help choose their next destination.
To find out which places around the world are receiving the most online attention, the travel experts at Bounce used data from TikTok and analysed the number of posts to identify the top trending places right now.
Here are the top ten.
10. Toronto, Canada
Kicking things off with 4.2 million views on TikTok is Toronto in Canada. The country's largest city offers a dynamic mix of cultural districts, green spaces, and iconic landmarks like the CN Tower.
9. Madrid, Spain
Madrid, the capital city of Spain, received 4.3 million posts, placing it in ninth.
Best known as a lively and sociable place with a wide range of restaurants, bars, social activities and entertainment, it's no surprise young travellers are flocking to the city.
8. Abu Dhabi, UAE
With 5 million posts on the app, Abu Dhabi is the eighth most popular destinations. Located in the United Arab Emirates, the city is a hotspot for Gen Z travellers seeking luxurious and memorable experiences.
7. Chicago, USA
Just ahead in seventh place is Chicago in the US with 5.1 million posts. Gen Z travellers are particularly attracted to Chicago's thriving arts scene, music festivals, and unique culinary offerings.
6. Miami, USA
In sixth place is Miami with 5.8 million posts on the social platform. Known for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural diversity, the city's unique blend of Latin American and Caribbean influences creates a lively atmosphere that resonates with young travellers looking for both relaxation and excitement.
5. New York, USA
The fifth most popular city on TikTok is New York, with over 7.2 million posts.
The city, which is commonly known as 'The Big Apple' or 'The City That Never Sleeps', is the most populous in the U.S., with approximately 8.5 million people living there.
It is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island.
3. Paris, France
The third most popular city on TikTok is Paris, with over 8.8 million posts. The city is the capital of France and is home to over 2.1 million people.
It is an ideal place to visit for those who like to travel sustainably, as it has one of the world's most sustainable transportation systems and it is one of only two cities to have received the Sustainable Transport Award twice.

Dubai is the most popular city on TikTok, with over 29.7 million posts. The city, located in the United Arab Emirates, is ideal for travelers who like the luxurious lifestyle, as it is home to the second-most five-star hotels in the world.
One of the most popular hotels is the ocean-themed Atlantis, The Palm, which boasts over 1,500 rooms and amazing views of the Dubai skyline. It is also home to the world's largest waterpark and the Lost Chambers Aquarium.
