How to get the true Ted Lasso pub experience in London

If, like me, you reckon Ted Lasso is one of the best shows ever, heading to London and not swinging by some of the sights from the show would be like Jamie Tartt missing a free kick.

You can even give Ted a knock and see if he fancies going for a cup of tea (or maybe not, we know he's not a fan of the British staple).

Many of the famous spots from the show, including Ted's flat and his local pub, can be found in Richmond-Upon-Thames. It's a cute, rather posh town in west London.

Getting to Ted land

Take the tube (underground) or train (overground) to Richmond. The TFL app is a London essential — just type in where you want to go from and to and it'll tell you the best way to get there.

From central London, it's about half an hour on the overground train.

Once you get off at Richmond station, take a left and walk down the town's high street for about 10 minutes until you come to King Street, on your right. On the way be sure to stop for a look in a few shops, like British staple Marks and Spencer — especially the food hall — and chic but pricey US celeb favourite, Anthropologie.

Head down King Street, and after a few paces, on your right, you'll see the entrance to Paved Court. That's the small alley-like street where Ted lives.

Number 11/2 (an English quirk means occasionally they use halves, especially in really old streets) is the one used as Ted's home. In the show it's not the same number, but it's close enough.

After getting your selfie, keep walking.

You'll soon stumble upon the hallowed ground where Ted and Coach Beard are often seen in the show — the town's lovely green and the all-important pub.

In the show it's the Crown and Anchor, while in real life it's The Princes Head. It's your typical British boozer.

While the show's filmed on a set, there is a special memorabilia corner, which has a Richmond footie strip, and photos of the cast. Even the red phone boxes outside, which are often seen in the show, are real.

Once you've finished being tourists, make sure you order some of the chips.

They're not quite Ted's famous biscuits, which he delivers to boss Rebecca every morning, but they're delish.

Once you've Instagrammed everything, wander back beyond the high street to the River Thames, where some other scenes have been shot.

Other top Ted Lasso sights

We didn't venture to the football ground used in the show, but Selhurst Park in south London, home of Crystal Palace, is in Croydon and can be reached by train.

And when Ted first arrives for his new London job, he pops in to see Tower Bridge (not to be confused with London Bridge, which is a boring one).

You can't miss it by heading to London Bridge or Tower Hill tube stations.
