New South Wales versus Queensland, Melbourne versus Sydney - the sporting rivalries across Australia are fierce.
Now Airbnb has unveiled new survey findings that show sport tourism is rapidly becoming one of Australia's leading travel trends.
And one Aussie city has been crowned the nation's sporting capital, according to the new data.

The survey - which Airbnb commissioned YouGov to conduct - looked into how major sporting events are driving travel across the country, including which city is drawing the most sports fans.
In first place was Sydney (44 per cent), followed by Melbourne (41 per cent), and then Brisbane (26 per cent) in third.

Other cities around the country that have drawn in the sports fans were Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast and then Canberra.
In the survey of over 1000 Aussies aged 18 and above, 70 per cent said they would travel domestically to spectate or participate in a sporting event.
As previously covered by 9Travel, the rise of 'behind-the-scenes' sports shows like Netflix's Drive to Survive, Break Point and Full Swing are one of the things fuelling this travel trend on a global scale.
In fact, travelling to watch sporting events has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry, and destinations are answering the call.

According to the new data, both domestic and global events are proving popular such as the NRL's State of Origin and the AFL Grand Final.
International travellers are also keen on visiting Australia for sport, with many travelling as far as the UK, Singapore and Korea.
Sporting events that are expected to attract global visitors to Australia include the upcoming men's Ashes series and the Sydney Marathon.
Airbnb found both events have sparked a spike in accommodation searches.
"Millennials are leading the pack with 78 percent having travelled for sport in the past six months while Gen Z are particularly keen on following the Lions rugby tour," Susan Wheeldon, Airbnb Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said in a statement.
