Coming in at number one is Pink Beach in Indonesia - found on the Komodo Islands between Sumbawa and the Flores Islands, which is about an hour from the Aussie holiday favourite of Bali.

Also known as Pantai Merah, it is aptly named and is one of only seven pink beaches on the planet.

Known for its "crushed coral and microscopic Foraminifera" the stretch of sand was dubbed "utter paradise", as reported by Forbes.

In second place is Le Morne, Mauritius, which the experts said "beckons with silky sands and swaying palms".

Found on Mauritius's southwestern coast, Le Morne is situated at the foot of Le Morne Brabant Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The area is known for its strong winds and waves, making it a favourite among kite surfers and windsurfers worldwide.

But there are plenty of other parts of the beach that offer calm, clear areas ideal for swimming and snorkelling, protected by coral reefs that encircle the bay.

Also in Africa is the third most beautiful beach, Boulders Beach, tucked into South Africa's Cape Peninsula.

The relatively sheltered beach is made up of inlets between granite boulders, which protect it from the wind and large waves, making it an ideal swimming spot.

Boulders Beach also remains the only place in the world where one can get up close to African penguins.

There was only one Aussie beach that featured in this latest round-up.

Lucky Bay, in Western Australia, came in at number 13 overall, behind Man O'War Beach, England, and Cannon Beach, Oregon, USA, which also fell outside of the top 10.

Located southeast of Esperance within the Cape Le Grand National Park, Lucky Bay is a popular destination for beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Well known for having some of the whitest sand in the world, the Aussie favourite offers swimming, fishing, and camping.

It is also a highlight of many tourism brochures thanks to the kangaroos seen frolicking on the sand. Your best chance to spot them is at dusk and dawn.

Lucky Bay has a large campground, perfect for those who enjoy camping. Bookings for camping are essential and can be made up to 180 days in advance.

Visitors can also enjoy driving on the beach, but you should be aware of the conditions of the beach before driving on it and take necessary precautions.
