Study reveals the world's most affordable travel destinations
Though a holiday is something that most of us are constantly saving for, it really shouldn't be something that clears out your savings.
Yes, heading to Italy at the peak of European summer will cost you an arm and a leg. But if you're savvy when choosing your destination, you can save yourself a lot of coin.
To help you out, the team at Wethrift took a list of the most popular holiday spots and looked at prices across food, accommodation, transport, and attractions to find the most wallet-friendly options.

10. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Coming in at number 10 is the holiday hotspot of Rio de Janeiro, where an average meal will cost you around $8.
It's best known for the iconic Copacabana beach and the impressive Sugarloaf mountain which looms over the city.
9. Phuket, Thailand
A destination that's beloved by Aussies thanks to the low prices and relatively short flight, Phuket offers a lot without costing too much.
The vibrant nightlife of Patong Beach and the bustling markets of Phuket Town are great ways to spend the eveings, while the tranquil waters of Phang Nga Bay is good for snorkelling and kayaking.
Here, one night's accommodation for two shouldn't cost more than $80.
8. Marrakesh, Morocco
This north African city is easy to get to from Europe, with flights from Italy clocking in around three hours.
It's also a lot cheaper, with meals sitting around $5.50 a pop.
7. Bangkok Thailand
Thailand's capital truly has it all, from bustling markets and ancient temples to urban skyscrapers and a vibrant nightlife.
It's a low-cost city escape that isn't too far from Australia.
6. Bali, Indonesia
You probably don't need data to believe that Bali is a low-cost destination - there's a reason Aussies have been flocking there for years.
While luxury villas abound, you can also nab yourself low-cost rooms for around $30 a night, while a meal should never cost more than a few dollars.
5. Hurghada, Egypt
We'll forgive you if you haven't heard of this one.
Hurghada is a coastal town in Egypt with pristine white beaches and turquoise ocean - for a fraction of the cost of visiting somewhere like Greece.
4. Istanbul, Turkey
Straddling Europe and Asia, Istanbul is a truly multicultural city, where you can get delicious food and stellar accomodation for a lot less than you might expect.
3. Cairo, Egypt
While many people just associate Cairo with the pyramids, there's more to the city than just that.
And despite being one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, it's been ranked as the third most wallet-friendly spot.
2. Hanoi, Vietnam
This city in the north of Vietnam has temperate weather, delicious food, friendly locals and low prices - what more could you need?
It's also the gateway city for exploring Ha Long Bay, a true bucket list destination.
