There are some skylines from around the world that are instantly recognisable at a glance.
Perfectly showcasing breathtaking architecture, historical landmarks and the beating heart of a city, it's no wonder they feature so heavily in our social media snaps.
And it's here that experts at Slingo have focused when determining the world's most iconic skylines.
Looking at social media posts and applying the "golden ratio" (aka the secret to aesthetic harmony, found in art, design and nature) when it comes to the number of skyscrapers and their differing heights, this is their list of the top 10 most beautiful skylines from around the world.
10. Melbourne, Australia
The only Aussie city to make the list, Melbourne's glittering skyline is proudly home to 29 buildings towering over 200 metres.
Add in iconic buildings such as Australia 108 (the highest residences in the Southern Hemisphere) and the Yarra River, and it's no wonder this sparkling gem is an Instagram favourite.
9. Singapore, Singapore
From the wonder of Marina Bay Sands to the whimsy of Gardens by the Bay, Singapore's spectacular skyline is a sight to behold.
For the best view, make your way to Skypark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands, where you can take in the best vantage spot, 56 storeys high.
8. Bangkok, Thailand
While there's plenty to see and do at street level, pay a visit to Thailand's highest observation deck, Mahanakhon Skywalk, to marvel at Bangkok from another point of view.
In a city where the old proudly meets the new, there's a whopping 115 buildings above 150 metres, and 24 taller than 200 metres.

One of the most densely packed skylines in the world, this city is home to an incredible 558 buildings that are taller than 150 metres.
Set against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour and lush mountains, Hong Kong's hustle and bustle makes it a winning destination for travellers.

A firm favourite of happy snappers with 44,400 photos on Instagram, Houston is currently home to the tallest building in Texas - the JPMorgan Chase Tower.
While it has one of the largest skylines in the US, you'll still find offbeat architecture and historical landmarks hidden amongst the skyscrapers.
5. Shanghai, China
Equally as beautiful by day as by night, stunning Shanghai's skyline is home to the second tallest building in the world, Shanghai Tower and, of course, the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower.
