I had never been to Vancouver. This hotel was in the perfect spot
When you’re visiting a new city, the best place to be is right in the centre. That’s my opinion anyway.
So when I arrived at Vancouver airport and punched Georgian Court Hotel into maps, I was ecstatic to see how easy it was going to make my visit.

Central location aside, the best part of the Georgian Court Hotel is if you’re travelling for sport, you’ll have the city’s main stadium, BC Place, right out your front door.
And that means sports bars all around you too for a proper Canadian fan experience.
I was one of thousands of Aussies visiting Vancouver during the FIFA World Cup 2026, which was the most popular host city of the tournament, according to Expedia data.
This hotel was the ideal place to stay for a Vancouver holiday that is central, active, and full of authentic Canadian highlights.
The amenities
The hotel itself is a boutique hotel offering various amenities with a highlight being the infrared sauna and hot tub.
There’s also the fitness centre that has more than the usual minimalist hotel gym.
It includes dumbbells, a bench, two treadmills, a Peloton bike, mats and a functional trainer.
If you’re a runner, the hotel is a short jog away from False Creek which you can run around too.

The food
While the location of the hotel is a major drawcard, one of my other favourites was the breakfast next door at Frankie’s Italian.
OK, it may be a simple western option but a plate of rosemary and sea salt potatoes, toast, eggs, bacon and fruit is one of the better ways to start a day. Particularly when it’s all cooked right.
Throw in the fact the staff are lovely and ask questions, mainly about Australia, then it’s a great experience.
Luckily, there’s the option for proper coffee too, not that liquid out of the pot that our North American friends love.

In-room dining is possible from Frankie’s too which goes from 7am to close. Breakfast, small plates, salads, pizza, pasta, mains and dessert are all available.
Who wouldn’t want pancakes in bed... in Canada?
The room
There are 180 guest rooms which include a deluxe king room, deluxe double queen room, accessible room, executive suite, penthouses and even a pet-friendly option.
The executive suite offered a lounge room with a dining table, desk and lounge, perfect if you need to work from the room.
Then there’s the bedroom with a king-sized bed, chest of drawers and adjoining bathroom.

How to get there
From the airport route offered multiple, simple options.
There is a half an hour Skytrain that goes from YVR-Airport stop to Yaletown-Roadhouse via six stops, followed by a 12-minute walk.
Or you can stay on for two more stops and get off at Waterfront, followed by a change of train and leave at Granville or Stadium-Chinatown.
