New Year, new travel plans: Here's where the team wants to holiday in 2025

2024 was a huge year in travel with much of the world's popular destinations reaching pre-pandemic tourist numbers - if not surpassing them.

But there is also a huge push to take the roads less travelled in a bid to help combat overtourism, and share the love, as they say.

With that in mind, we asked the team to share where they were planning on holidaying this year. From exotic honeymoons to local trips, there's plenty of inspiration for your 2025 getaways.

Canada

Erin Christie: "I'm hoping to do a 'big trip' next year to visit a friend in Canada. I will be waiting for mid-year though, I don't think I'd be able to handle the winter."

South Africa

Sarah Swain: "I am planning a horse-riding holiday and doing this in South Africa so I can also tick off a bucket-list safari.

"I am also planning to go to London, because I can never get enough of that place."

South Korea

Chantelle Bozicevic: 'Hopefully next year I'll be heading to South Korea and/or New Zealand.

"South Korea sounds like an amazing place and I'd love to learn more about the culture. I also hear the thrift shopping is next level.

"I'm am also hoping to do a girls wine trip to New Zealand with some friends."

Italy

Lara Long: "In 2025 I'm planning a trip to Italy around a friend's birthday."

Japan and Vietnam

April Glover: "I am going to Japan and Vietnam for my honeymoon.

"I last went to Japan in 2018 and fell in love with it - Tokyo is one of my favourite cities in the world and can't wait to show my partner the delicious food and unique culture.

"Will hopefully be doing some mountain stays during this trip, too. And we'll be tacking on Vietnam at the end for a bit of a beach/island getaway."

Kentucky, USA

Karishma Sarkari: "I'll be going to Kentucky, USA in May to visit a friend, and see the famous Kentucky Derby."

Byron Bay

Serena Seyfort: "No plans for travel yet in 2025 but I would love to go to Byron Bay, NSW for the first time."

Christmas in Europe

Kristine Tarbert: "We're planning on spending Christmas and New Year in 2025 in Europe. Specifically we'll be visiting family in Germany and then going skiing in the Alps.

"I've got my fingers crossed for a white Christmas and can't wait to see our daughters reaction to snow when she sees it for the first time!"
