Design experts crown Australia's most 'Instagrammable' hotels
It has become as important as having a cosy bed and a nice bathroom.
Being 'Instagrammable' by having interiors pretty enough to post online is now a thing many travellers are seeking from hotels.
Whether they have spectacular marble and grand staircases or moody bars and chic, dimly lit rooms travellers often choose by looks alone.
Now experts have put together a list of Australia's 'most Instagrammable' hotels.
Sovereign Interiors analysed Instagram location tags to reveal which are dominating feeds, from timeless elegance in Melbourne to sun‑soaked Palm Springs vibes in Queensland.

10. Stamford Plaza, Brisbane
This dubs its self Brisbane's 'finest riverside hotel' and boasts sweeping views of the water from every room.
The luxury spot is close to the city's financial district and has traditional-style rooms complete with luxury touches such as baths with a view.

9. QT Sydney
From the chic staff who stand outside to the trendy bar, this hotel exudes hip style.
It has a partly-art deco style in a building which was once a theatre.
This continues in the rooms, which have a dark, funky style, perfect for that insta shot.
8. W Brisbane
From the pool which is adorned with a zig zag design, to the minimalist yet trendy rooms, just like the others in the famous chain this hotel offers a stay with a difference.

6. Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park
This landmark hotel overlooks the famous green space.
But the insides combine "classic with contemporary" according to the hotel.

5. Sofitel Melbourne on Collins
Designer Cayley, who was involved in the study, says this hotel offers European style interpreted for Melbourne.
"The hotels topping Instagram aren't just photogenic, they demonstrate principles of cohesive, place-led design," she says.
4. Sofitel Darling Harbour
This "contemporary and cosmopolitan "hotel, which sits in the middle of the soon-to-be revamped area offers "effortless luxury" the experts say.
"Sofitel Darling Harbour is an example of elegant contrast," Cayley says.

2. The Langham, Melbourne
This Melbourne hotel offers a refined take on luxury.
"Langham Melbourne exemplifies a quiet order. It isn't loud, it is measured," Cayley says.
"The interplay of proportion, scale, and material harmony forms an interior rhythm designers strive for."

1. The Calile Hotel, Brisbane
Coming out on top was the renowned design hub, the Calile Hotel in Brisbane.
"The hotels topping Instagram aren't just photogenic, they are thoughtfully composed interiors that balance comfort, context, and craftsmanship," says Cayley.
"Each space tells a story."
