Simple trick to getting an early check-in at a hotel
After landing in a foreign city early in the morning, there's only one thing you want to do.
Check into your hotel.
But of course, most hotels Airbnbs and apartments set official times to get your room at 2pm or 3pm.

We've all rocked up at the hotel, bleary eyed at 8am asking the harassed receptionist if we can please check in.
Hotel expert Andrew Burns, says they're not just being mean if they say no, they're just not ready.
"Housekeeping teams are turning over rooms within a tight window, often four hours or less as industry standard, and unplanned early arrivals compete with that process." Andrew, general manager of Indianapolis' Ironworks Hotel Indy in the USA, told Yahoo!
But there is something you can do to increase your chances of getting that precious key into your hands sooner.
Simply contact the hotel before and tell them you're landing early and would like to ask to check-in early. Usually they will help if they can.
"Hotels are far more likely to accommodate early check-in when it's requested in advance," he said.

You should also do the same if your flight is leaving later and you want to keep your room.
It's best to ask for this at check-in.
"By the morning of departure, housekeeping and incoming arrivals are already scheduled. At check-in, there is still room to build flexibility into the plan," he said.
Meanwhile, you can also book hotel rooms by the hour to ease that wait to check in, or kill time before the airport.
Sites like Day Use and Resort Pass offer hotel you can use for a few hours, and often hotel chains have their own schemes too.

"Recently, I was on a three-day stopover in Singapore and was booked into a $400 a night hotel. I landed around 7am," he said.
"I didn't want to pay for an extra night at that price so I used an excellent website called dayuse.com and booked a clean, comfortable room with private bathroom and wi-fi from 8am-2pm for $128.
"Six hours seems to be the standard offering but you can find them for as little as four hours. The filter on the website will allow you to nominate the length of your stay."
Meanwhile, luxury group The Peninsula Hotels says it started a system 20 years ago to help guests arriving at dawn after overnight flights.
'Peninsula Time' allows guests to check in from 6am and depart as late as 10pm.
