'Endlessly useful' hotel room freebie travel expert always takes before leaving
Be honest: When you leave a hotel room, do you take any freebies with you?
Travellers have admitted to taking everything from the little shampoo bottles all the way through to batteries from the TV remote - though we don't recommend that last one.
So what's OK to take and what should be left behind?
We asked frequent traveller and Getaway host Catriona Rowntree to weigh in.

The presenter told 9Travel "there is a certain unspoken law about what you can and can't nick from the hotel room."
First of all, the don'ts. "Leave the towels alone, buddy. And that TV is not going anywhere."
However, there is one useful item Catriona takes with her from every hotel room that she stays in: the shower cap.
"When you're travelling, a shower cap can be used for all sorts of different things," she advises.
"You might want to have one last swim before you leave your holiday. Then, wrap the wet cozzie up in the shower cap and you can pack it away."

"When you're packing away your dirty undies, wrap them up in the shower cap."
They're also great for keeping dirty shoes away from your clothes. "You don't want a footprint mark on your clothes, so put a shower cap over the soles of your shoes before packing them away."
Catriona really loves her shower caps. "It's just one of the best things."
Have a dig through the amenity kit in your room to also see if you've been supplied with a nail file. "These are absolutely brilliant," she says, keeping them on hand for any nail emergencies that may come up.

If you go over to Catriona's house, she admitted you might find some familiar-looking cakes of soap in her bathroom.
"I haven't paid for soap for years," she confesses, saying that it's one thing she always takes with her on check-out. "It's OK, no one minds."
But just don't take the towels.
Her golden rule is: "So long as it's not too big or expensive, it's almost disrespectful not to take the little amenity kits with you."
