Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience opens just outside of Melbourne

Calling all Potterheads!

The immersive attraction Harry Potter: A Forbidden Experience has finally made its way Down Under, after wowing fans in US, UK and Europe.

The experience, modelled after the Forbidden Forest will open on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula, on April 6.

At the Forbidden Experience, guests walk down a magically illuminated woodland trail, where you'll be able to use your wand to cast spells, and dine out on specialty food from the wizarding world.

The experience has been constructed at The Briars, a spectacular 230-hectare wilderness area.

You'll come face-to-face with magical creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, such as Hippogriffs, unicorns, Nifflers, and more.

It's a family experience, suitable for people of all ages to enjoy.

A themed village lies at the end of the forbidden trail through the forest, complete with Harry Potter-inspired food and drinks and a gift shop.

A Forbidden Experience is located at Mount Martha, roughly one hours drive to the south of Melbourne.

The whole experience takes around 60 to 90 minutes.

It's open every day of the week from April 6 to 28, and then Thursday-Sunday in May until the 19.
