While taking a holiday is always an exciting prospect, for some, the thought of actually flying anywhere can be very anxiety-inducing.

People with a fear of flying have come up with a number of ways to chill out and get through flights with as little nervousness as possible, from sleeping pills to distraction techniques.

Another great way to chill out onboard is with a good playlist.

Using The Playlist Miner, experts at CasinoAlpha.com analysed Spotify playlists made by the public with terms such as 'de-stress' and 'comfort' in their titles.

From here, they have determined the ten songs most likely to calm and comfort anyone with nerves around flying.

According to the study, the number one song used to calm flight nerves is The Night We Met by Lord Huron, with 264 playlist appearances. The song was mostly found on playlists with 'comfort' in the title.

Though you may not be familiar with the song title, you might recognise the song, as it went viral on TikTok and Reels last year.

In fact, you may as well go ahead and add the whole Cigarettes After Sex back catalogue to your Spotify library. The band has three songs in the study's top ten list.

Coming in third is Space Song by Beach House. Here are the top ten most calming songs, according to this study.

One Aussie woman conquered her fear of flying with this course. "Dial-a-Pilot answered every single question I had about the plane itself, different scenarios, plane sounds, turbulence, going through storms and even the route you are travelling on," Sandy Buono told 9Travel earlier this year.

"I was a lot more at ease and with the knowledge they gave me most of my fears were gone as I had answers to all the scary questions."
