Fiji Airways crowned best airline in Australia and Pacific for second year
Fiji Airways has been crowned the Best Airline in Australia and Pacific for the second consecutive year, at the prestigious Skytrax 2024 World Airline Awards, held in London overnight.
Fiji's National Carrier beat out Air New Zealand which came in second, followed by Aussie airlines Qantas, Rex, Virgin and Jetstar.
QantasLink placed seventh separately, with Air Tahiti also in the top ten.

Travellers from across the world voted in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners, with more than 21 million entries, and 350 airlines featured in the final results.
UK-based Skytrax said the votes were the closest run since the awards, known as the Oscars of commercial aviation, began in 1999.
Fiji Airways also improved its global ranking in the top 100 airlines, climbing from 15th in 2023 to 14th in 2024 to finish ahead of Qantas and Air New Zealand as well.

The airline was also awarded Best Airline Staff in Australia & Pacific for the fourth year in a row.
"Being named the Best Airline in Australia and the Pacific for a second consecutive year is a testament to our team's commitment to delivering exceptional customer service," Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Andre Viljoen said.

For the eighth time in the 25-year history of the prestigious awards Qatar was named the World's Best Airline, in recognition of the quality of service it offers passengers on its modern fleet.
Qatar's victory meant second place for last year's winner, Singapore Airlines, but only just.
