Australian-first private cruise island will have unlimited food and adults-only beach

More details have been revealed on the first private island destination for Australian cruisers
Cruise company Royal Caribbean has confirmed it will start welcoming cruisers to Royal Beach Club Lelepa in Vanuatu in the South Pacific in October next year.
All South Pacific cruises from Sydney and Brisbane on Anthem of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas will make a stop at the island.

The island will have two beaches to visit, including an adults-only retreat and a family beach with activities.

Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand, Royal Caribbean, says: "We know Australian families love holidaying in the South Pacific, and Lelepa takes that to an entirely new level with an experience they won't find anywhere else in the world."

A scenic nature trail and snorkelling will also be on offer.

Like on a cruise, umbrellas, loungers and towels will all be included at no extra cost.

The island is off Efate, the main island where the capital of Port Vila is located.
Previously, the island has only been accessible via day trips for holidaymakers staying on the mainland, but it's now being revamped by the cruise line.
It'll be the first private island cruise destination in the Southern Hemisphere.

And while many private islands in the Caribbean have been developed to include huge swimming pools, beach clubs and restaurants, the company appears to be aiming to keep Lelepa a bit more natural.
Cruise bosses promise a "locally inspired experience" including "serene beaches, nature trails, water activities and delicious dining."

Gavin said when it was announced, he was "thrilled" about the Aussie first.
"With crystal clear waters and the most stunning natural beauty, it'll be the perfect spot for our guests on their South Pacific holidays come 2027," he said.
If you're setting sail in the Caribbean or Bahamas, it's likely your ship will also visit a private island or resort owned by the cruise line in the region.

The destinations are becoming increasingly lavish, with huge pools, private villas and adventurous activities on offer.
They're usually like a ship, but on the shore, with all your food included - and even drinks if you have a package.
Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean also announced the opening of another private destination, Perfect Day Mexico, which will welcome guests from 2027.

It will have 30 waterslides at Loco Waterpark as well as the world's longest lazy crazy river.
There'll also be six pools and three beaches.
No less than 12 restaurants and 24 bars - including six that you can swim up to - will also be on offer.
