The top destinations around the world which offer travellers the best value for money
While a lot of us may be dreaming of a luxurious holiday, unfortunately, the cost of living crisis isn't really helping us make that a reality.
Travel app Expedia found that of all the Aussies heading overseas this year, 81 per cent have prioritised destinations that offer good value for money.
While Bali might be an obvious choice, there are some surprising places around the world where your dollar will go further.
Expedia has compiled a Holiday Value Guide, with all the spots where daily accommodation rates are under $300 per night – some as low as $105.

10. Greek Islands
Though the Greek islands are a popular spot for holidays during the European summer, the prices for accommodation are still pretty good.
Islands like Santorini, Mykonos, and Paros all average $255 per night.
Make your holiday even cheaper by packing picnics from the local supermarket and hanging out on secluded beaches or rocky coves where you don't have to pay admission.
9. Istanbul, Turkey
You don't have to go all the way to Western Europe to enjoy the warm weather, historic culture and delicious food.
The capital city of Istanbul is a great destination to add to your European tour – or a jumping-off point for exploring the rest of Turkey.
Accommodation here averages $215 per night.
For the best value, accommodation rates in Manila average about $150, while stays on the idyllic Boracay island are just over $200.
7. Auckland, New Zealand
Just a short flight from the east coast of Australia, New Zealand is a top holiday destination for a reason.
A night in Auckland averages about $220.
Whether you want to soak up the culture of the city or head to the beautiful coastline, there's heaps to do on a long weekend or mid-week trip.
6. Malaysia
The islands of Malaysia are another great place to take a trip, where you're guaranteed pristine beaches and warm weather.
On the picturesque island of Langkawi, you can nab accommodation for around $120.
Don't forget about the city, too! In Kuala Lumpur, average hotel rates are $164.
