The 10 best budget-friendly places to go in 2025, according to Skyscanner
With the cost of living continuing to batter Aussies, everyone is keen to save money on holidays.
And in 2025 that is set to continue.
But some destinations are actually getting better value to visit.
Travel app Skyscanner has rounded up the ten best budget friendly places to go next year.
"Aussies have experienced different ways of enjoying travelling over time, but one thing that remains consistent is the desire to find new destinations and to land a good bargain," Skyscanner travel expert, Jarrod Kris, said.
He also said Aussies are getting more adventurous.
"We are certainly going beyond the obvious tourist destinations in search of a perfect spot to create memories."

10. Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland isn't known as a cheap destination, but the cost of visiting the "land of ice and fire" as it's known has dropped 19 per cent, according to Skyscanner.
Like for all destinations mentioned, that's based on the cost of flights for an economy class return booked between 1 January 2024 and 30 June 2024 for travel throughout 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
9. Bogota, Colombia
The South American nation of Colombia is an emerging destination, and it won't cost you too much to get there.
Flight prices are down 21 per cent.
8. Vientiane, Laos
Laos, which is between Vietnam and Thailand is not too far from Australia, and prices to get there have dropped.
I'll cost you 21 per cent less than previously, Skyscanner says.
7. Chicago, USA
The USA isn't a cheap place to holiday, but the city of Chicago has seen a drop in prices for Aussies who want to go, of up to 25 per cent, the survey found.
6. Lyon, France
Cities outside of Paris are becoming popular, and Lyon, is a quarter cheaper to fly to now, Skyscanner says.
5. Okinawa, Japan
You'll save 25 per cent on a visit to Okinawa in Japan - which could pass for a much more expensive tropical destination.
4. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest in Hungary is one of Europe's most picturesque capitals.
Go in 2025 at a cost around 25 per cent less than previously.
3. Madrid, Spain
Trips to Spanish capital Madrid have dropped in price, Skyscanner says.
2. Belfast, Northern Ireland
Prices to fly to the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast are also down 26 per cent, Skyscanner says.
The city is famous for nightlife as well as the Titanic museum.
