The best lookout points in Australia crowned in Uniquely Aussie Awards
There are plenty of things that make Australia unique, including the stunning landscapes and spectacular scenery.
With nearly half (47%) of Aussies planning to travel over the spring and summer holidays this year, travel app Wotif has provided a guide to the best local gems nationwide.
Among the winners of its 2024 Uniquely Aussie Awards is the best lookout point in the country – which you'll find in Tasmania.

Wineglass Bay Lookout in Freycinet was crowned winner in the category.
Considered one of Tasmania's most celebrated views, it overlooks the clear waters and curvaceous white beach of Wineglass Bay, which occasionally offers sightings of whales and dolphins.
Visitors can enjoy a beautifully constructed 1.3km track that takes you up through the coastal woodland, and past striking granite boulders, to the lookout point.
Each state also had a winner recognised:
- NSW: Echo Point Lookout, Blue Mountains
- VIC: Point Ormond Lookout, Elwood
- QLD: Mount Coot-Tha Summit Lookout, Mount Coot-Tha
- NT: Nawurlandja Lookout, Kakadu
- WA: Kalbarri Skywalk Lookout, Kalbarri
- ACT: Mount Ainslie Lookout, Mount Ainslie
- SA: Mount Lofty Summit, Cleland

"The Uniquely Aussie Awards are about celebrating and spotlighting some of the country's unique gems and as Aussies head into the spring and summer travel period, aims to serve as inspiration for local getaways," Wotif Travel Expert, Rebecca Hurley says.
There were thousands of entries across the six categories, ranging from the best nostalgic finger bun, to stunning surf clubs, and fascinating regional museums.
Now in their seventh year, the awards also recognised the Best Hotel Bar in the country, which went to The Terrace Rooftop Bar at Emporium Hotel South Bank, Brisbane.

Owned and operated by a local Brisbane couple, the Terrace Rooftop Bar is an architectural wonder offering drinks, of course, but also panoramic vistas of the city and beyond, framed by the innovative design of a retractable ceiling and expansive doors that open into the South Bank Parklands.
Also recognised at this year's awards was the National Wool Museum, in Geelong, Victoria, crowned the Best Regional Museum.
Previously a wool store itself, the museum is home to everything you need to know about the production, processes and manufacturing of wool.
