Best hotels in the world 2025: Only Aussie hotel on global list costs under $300 a night
The best hotels in the world for 2025 have been named by hotel experts.
La Liste combines data from guidebooks and other publications as well as online reviews to come up with their guide to the best hotels around the world.
President and founder of La Liste Philippe Faure says: "These establishments truly represent the pinnacle of global hospitality.
"Each transcends the simple concept of accommodation to offer a transformative experience to its guests."
Only one Aussie hotel made it onto the list.

The Peninsula, Chicago, USA
The mammoth building on Michigan and Chicago Avenues boasts "Asian service" in American spaces, the experts say.
Apparently its rooms are among the most technologically advanced in the world, with bedside tablets and phone charging.
The Peninsula, Shanghai, China
Dubbed an "architectural tour de force" this lavish hotel marries Art Deco grandeur with cutting-edge technology, according to the experts.
Rosewood Mayakoba, Mexico
This spot is dubbed "an ecological marvel."
The suites are accessible by boat, as well as footpath, connecting to the sensitive ecosystem in which it sits."
Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Thailand
This hotel, on the city's Chao Phraya River is a "living legend of Asian hospitality," La Liste says.
Open for 145 years, it offers "timeless service" says the website experts.
J.K. Place Capri, Marina Grande, Italy
This spot is "not merely a hotel but a masterly reimagining of the sophisticated Italian beach house," the experts say.
Apparently it "captures Capri's effortless glamour while offering a sanctuary from its summer crowds."
Cheval Blanc Paris, France
It's no wonder this lavish hotel by the Seine is one of the best in the world, as it's owned by luxury brand LVMH, most famous for Louis Vuitton handbags.
"Every element has been considered with almost obsessive attention to detail," La Liste says.
Il San Pietro di Positano, Italy
This Amalfi coast hotel is a "miraculous feat of architecture" the website says.
"The hotel's private beach, accessible only by elevator cut through solid rock, epitomises the exclusive yet authentic Italian experience that has drawn discerning travellers for generations," it notes.
The Savoy, London, UK
The Savoy is "an enduring icon of British cultural identity" La Liste notes.
And while it costs thousands of dollars a night to stay, a visit to the acclaimed American Bar is a cheaper way to visit.
The Connaught Hotel, London, UK
The Connaught Hotel in London is "where British heritage meets contemporary artistry," according to the website.
"Its legendarily attentive service, helmed by the world's finest butlers, transforms each stay into a narrative of timeless refinement," it says.
