Tripadvisor has unveiled its Travelers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Beaches for 2025
Australia dominated the South Pacific category with seven entries in the top 10, but globally it didn't fair as well.
Here are the top 15 stretches of sand in the world.
14. Poipu beach, Hawaii
The sandy Poipu beach in Hawaii, Kauai, landed at number 14, according to Tripadvisor. Snorkelling, colourful fish and lava rocks are all considered highlights.
13. Ipanema Beach, Brazil
Ipanema Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was awarded spot number 13 in 2025. One of Rio's most well-known beaches it offers plenty of things to do.
12. Maspalomas Beach (Playa de Maspalomas), Spain
Maspalomas Beach (Playa de Maspalomas) in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain is surrounded by impressive sand dunes, with rolling golden sands and crystal-clear waters.
10. Myrtos Beach, Greece
Surrounded by mountains, Myrtos Beach is the perfect scenic spot for a peaceful beach day, according to Tripadvisor.
9. Kelingking Beach, Bali, Indonesia
Already a popular spot for Aussies, Kelingking Beach in Indonesia was ranked at number nine.
Hiking with spectacular views is part of the draw for this Bali stunner.
8. Playa de Muro, Spain
Playa de Muro Beach in Spain is at number eight on this year's list. Located on the popular holiday island of Mallorca, July and August is prime time to visit this Mediterranean island.
7. Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic
Bavaro Beach is described as "the stuff of postcards", with its soft, white sand, warm, clear waters, and shady palm trees.
Landing at number seven this Punta Cana beach is at its best from December to April when the dry season means minimal rainfall and pleasant weather.
6. Playa Varadero, Cuba
Playa Varadero in Cuba placed at number six, and according to Tripadvisor " has everything you'd expect from a picture-perfect beach".
The dry season from December to March offers warm temperatures and stable weather patterns.
4. Siesta Beach, Florida, USA
Narrowly missing out on the podium is Siesta Beach in Florida, which landed at number four.
Tripadvisor says the spot is great regardless of whether you want to relax or "fill your day with activities".
The shoulder seasons in spring and autumn are great times to visit the best US beach without the crowds of summer.
