The world's best airport for dining has been named - and it's got a hidden food court

Grabbing a bite to eat in the airport is an essential part of any travel day, especially if you've got a long flight ahead.

Maybe you're scoffing a Macca's breakfast on the way to your gate or you're enjoying one last bowl of Italian pasta or Japanese ramen before heading home.

But any traveller knows that not all airports are created equal. In some, you'll be able to find a steaming bowl of noodles under $10, while in others, you might be forking over $30 for a soggy sandwich.

Skytrax has just announced its annual list of the world's best airport dining for 2026, and you probably won't be surprised when you see the winner.

Singapore's Changi Airport has taken out the top spot (as well as being crowned the world's best airport for the 14th time).

Per Skytrax, the World's Best Airport Dining award "covers the selection, types and quality of Food & Beverage outlets at the airport (café, bars, restaurants, fast food etc), and the value for money".

If you've been through Changi Airport, you'd know that you could spend days just exploring all the food options, from hawker-style stalls to fine dining establishments.

You can even grab a burrito at Guzman Y Gomez if you're missing your fave Aussie chain.

There's even a 'secret' food court in the basement of the airport for workers and staff, which savvy travellers can also access. Here you'll find local cuisine at lower prices, including staples like Chicken Rice, Bak Kut Teh, and Kaya Toast.

To find these staff canteens, you'll need to do so before heading through immigration. Terminal 1's is on basement level 1, and if you're in Terminal 2, head to level 3M above a carpark.

Meals cost at least half the price of standard terminal eateries, though you'll need cash for many outlets.

Coming in second place on Skytrax's list is Seoul Incheon, which is known for being a great hub for authentic Korean food, like bibimbap, kimchi stew, pork dumplings, and Sulppang.

Of course, international options abound too, from Shake Shack to Dunkin' Donuts. Travellers on Reddit say that the best traditional food is often found in the B1 level food courts, which offer better value than many top-floor options.

Two Japanese airports - Tokyo Haneda and New Chitose - came in third and fourth place, while Rome's Fiumicino rounded out the top five.
