Wild Oats XI sails into Sydney-Hobart history
Wild Oats XI has won a record eighth Sydney to Hobart line honour after sailing into Constitution Dock in Hobart.
The super-maxi duelled it out with international entry Comanche down the Australian Coast and into the Derwent River.
But the Mark Richards-skippered Wild Oats XI proved her pedigree, sailing through Storm Bay and up to Hobart surrounded by a flotilla of boats.
The jubilant scenes are just another reminder of the boat’s dominance of the blue water classic.
It would be the eighth time the boat has taken line honours. (AAP)
