As it happened: Israel Adesanya defeats Robert Whittaker by TKO to claim middleweight title

To say Israel Adesanya has been prophetic throughout his career is an understatement. He told Wide World of Sports that this moment would come true in an exclusive interview less than a year ago.

Once again to re-live an incredible win for Israel Adesanya, here is the moment where he secured the UFC undisputed middleweight title.

Adesanya after the win:

"I'm real petty you know that. I remember everything like an elephant. I was in the nose-bleeds and now I made his nose bleed. He threw everything we expected. We have everything from his plan A, B and C and in this fight we had it down to plan Z."

He explains his winning combination that knocked Whittaker off his feat:

"I eat it and I gave it back that's a two-piece right there. I can take it and I can give it back. It's stupid to get hit but I'm smart."

Great sportsmanship by Whittaker after the win and he gives the Aussie fans a message:

"Hands off to Adesanya he's a great striker. I thought I was doing well I until got hit. Didn't get the W today but I'm not going anywhere."

But Adesanya is not done yet! He's called out Paulo Costa who happens to be at Marvel Stadium today as his next opponent.
