Caroline Garcia has showed her class here, turning the tables after a disappointing opening set.

She takes the second 6-3 over Belinda Bencic and forces the No.8 seed into a deciding third set.

Impressive stuff from Belinda Bencic, who sweeps aside Caroline Garcia to take the first set 6-2.

She was in control right from the top of this match and did not look back in that opening set.

Mark Petchey on commentary calls it a "perfect" set.

Belinda Bencic is on top early against Caroline Garcia in the final match of the night, breaking the No.4 seed to take a 3-1 lead in the first set.

Four unforced errors by Garcia to none from Bencic so far in this one.

Jelena Dokic on commentary for Nine says the Frenchwoman needs to play with a little more patience.

Thanasi Kokkinakis is through to another semi final in Adelaide and did it off just a handful of hours of sleep!

The Aussie star revealed that he didn't get to sleep until 5am this morning after last night's match against No.1 seed Andrey Rublev.

"I didn't sleep much last night, to be honest, at all," he said.

"I reckon I got to sleep at five (am) and maybe slept for a couple of hours. Nothing ridiculous. I was tucked away doing my compression boots. So nothing too fancy just yet. I'll wait 'til after Aus Open.

"I just couldn't sleep last night for whatever reason, so I was trying to conserve energy. I didn't want to use it too much.

"I had a couple of Monsters before I started and tried to get going."

What a way to finish it!

Thanasi Kokkinakis goes unanswered in the match-winning game and cleans up Miomor Kecmanovic in the final set to win it 6-3, 7-6, 6-1 in Adelaide.

At face value, the 6-1 win might have looked like plain sailing for the hometown hero. It was anything but!

The penultimate match is a dramatic one lasting 14 minutes and 11 seconds after the pair traded points.

After finally taking it, Kokkinakis blitzes the last game to win it and go through to the semi-finals at Adelaide International 2.

"The dream is alive," says Josh Eagle.

"He played a wonderful match tonight. Barely put a foot wrong.

"Well, this young man, showed us why he is a top 30 ranked player and a man on the up.

"He'll enjoy this win tonight, because it wasn't easy in the end.

"The first set and a half he was in absolute control. A fast start. Got pushed to a second set tiebreak where things just didn't go his way, but he continued to back himself, serve huge, rip forehands, and boy oh boy is he playing some impressive tennis."

Kokkinakis will face Roberto Bautista Agut in the semi-final on Friday, the fourth seed.

It's a nervous game, one that goes for more than five minutes. In the end, Thanasi Kokkinakis claims it and edges his lead out to 4-1.

It's not without going to deuce twice though. Two massive serves do the job and deny Miomor Kecmanovic a chance to get one back against the serve.

"Well, he's living dangerously Fitzy," says Josh Eagle.

"But this is what confidence can do when you win a bunch of matches and feel familiar in the surroundings and the environment.

John Fitzgerald replies, "He would rarely play like that at a regular tournament where he's chancing his arm and going for that bigger second serve. There's no way.

"It's almost like it's a destiny thing, here in Adelaide, for him."

Veronika Kudermetova has staged a phenomenal comeback against Danielle Collins, staving off five match points to advance.

Kudermetova was staring down the barrel of a straight-sets loss, but turned the match around, dominating the final set to run out a 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 winner.

A bitter pill to swallow for Collins, who will sense a massive missed opportuntiy here.

She was runner-up to Ash Barty in last year's Australian Open.

What a start to this third and final set!

Thanasi Kokkinakis is given a gift by Miomor Kecmanovic after making two double faults, subsequently losing the point on serve.

The Serbian hadn't had a single double fault all match until then offered up two!

It's a turbulent third game that goes to deuce and Kokkinakis gets out of trouble with back-to-back aces.

He leads 3-0 in the third set. Magnificent stuff!

Miomor Kecmanovic silences the Adelaide auditorium!

It's an anti-climax to the second set really as the Serbian claims it.

There's no real celebration from Kecmanovic and there's certainly no smiles from Thanasi Kokkinakis' camp.

"Kecmanovic wins the set, zero (reaction)," remarks Roger Rasheed.

"They gave us nothing. Didn't turn to his group. Just walked to the chair and has no changed his image, his facial image, for the whole match.

"It's really interesting. I'm not sure whether this is normal all year round. It wouldn't be much fun, would it? Where's the enjoyment for the group."

The stats really paint the picture. Kokkinakis made 11 unforced errors in that second set to Kecmanovic's three.

Both players have wandered off the court.

Thanasi Kokkinakis has a chance to close this one out over Miomir Kecmanovic.

It's 6-6 in the second set and we're going to a tiebreak to decide this second set.

It's been a serving procession from Adelaide's favourite son.
