Provincial BaaBaas feature power and pace

A powerful forward pack and exciting back-line feature in the New Zealand provincial Barbarians named to play the British and Irish Lions in Whangarei on Saturday.

Lions coach Warren Gatland's 22-year-old son Bryn will marshal the backs from five-eighth, with support from Waikato veteran Dwayne Sweeney at inside centre.

Provincial Barbarians coach Clayton McMillan said the team, which will be captained by Otago hooker Sam Anderson-Heather, had been working hard since assembling last Saturday.

"It's always going to be pretty hard when you are bringing a group together from four corners of New Zealand, but from what I can see and the feedback we've got, the boys have come together really well," he said.

"We recognise it's going to be a hard game but we have plenty to play for and the boys can't wait to get out there.''
