Brazil make history with stunning upset of Australia at the Vancouver Sevens

Australia's women's sevens team lost 14-12 to Brazil in Vancouver in one of the all-time upsets in world series history.

It was Brazil's first win over Australia in the format as Yasmin Soares scored two late tries to spark delirium on Saturday (AEDT).

Teagan Levi and Faith Nathan had scored the first two tries and it looked like business as usual with Australia holding a 12-0 lead before the unlikely comeback.

Mackenzie Davis nearly proved the hero for Australia before a remarkable try-saving tackle from Thalia Costa sealed the win.

Tim Walsh's side had earlier thrashed Spain 42-0 in pool play and Australia now face a tricky pool clash with Canada on Sunday (10.08am AEDT) as they try to qualify for the quarter-finals.
