Wallabies' excruciating Bledisloe Cup wait extended to 18th year after record-breaking Game 3 defeat

Australia's agonising wait for a Bledisloe Cup series win will go onto an 18th year after a crashing to a record-breaking defeat against New Zealand in Game 3.

Coming into the match facing a do-or-die situation, the Wallabies shot themselves in the foot with a number of sloppy first-half errors, before eventually succumbing 43-5 at ANZ Stadium.

Australia was immediately forced onto the back foot in the opening minutes when Filipo Daugunu was sent off for a reckless tackle attempt on Caleb Clarke, before the All Blacks soon took advantage of the extra man.

A first-half double from Richie Mo'unga and Dane Coles' maiden try rendered the game over at half-time with the Wallabies facing a 26-0 deficit at the main break.

"Comprehensively outsmarted. Out-experienced, really, particularly in that first half," former Wallabies skipper Phil Kearns told Fox Sports.

"The young Wallabies really were taught a lesson in how to play wet-weather football and how to control the football. Their kicking game was superb, short and long and in the middle.

"A bit of a learning experience. The experience they've had tonight will be critical in their development."

The Bledisloe series win was the first in All Blacks captain Sam Cane's career, and he admitted that his side had preyed on an inexperienced side's sloppiness in the first half.

"I'm really proud of the way we've improved every week," he said.

"Our first half wasn't anything special, I thought it was built off pressure and forcing the Aussies into a few too many mistakes and some of our boys were good enough to capitalise on them.

"It's more than a relief, it's exciting, it's a lot of feelings, but I'm just really proud of the group and excited about what's ahead."

Following the loss, Wallabies coach Dave Rennie admitted that the two sides had been "poles apart", but said he would continue to trust his young players.

"Absolutely," Rennie said when asked he if would keep going with youth.

"The team we picked today was a team we thought was good enough to do the job.

"It's not a case of just giving the young fellas a run. We're confident these boys will bounce back.

"It might take a while to find any (positives), but the third 20 [minutes] – we came out and defended well for long periods and managed to get over the line. But too many mistakes every time beyond that and we turned it over within one or two phases, we've got to be better than that.

"For 20 minutes it was okay, but for an All Blacks side you've got to do it for 80 to be in the hunt.

"We've been putting a lot of work into our game but not evident tonight. But we've got a good group of men working hard. Clearly our skillsets need a lot of work, the quality of our carry and clean, the quality of our chop and hunt, slow ball downs.

"One thing I will guarantee you is, we will be better next week."

The two teams will now head to Brisbane for the final Test of the series to be played at Suncorp Stadium on November 7.

New Zealand have retained the Bledisloe Cup for the 18th consecutive series after a dominant 43-5 win over Australia at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

After drawn first Test of the series, comfortable wins in Games 2 and 3 have given the All Blacks an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match series.

The All Blacks have extended their lead after Lolesio's try for the Wallabies and this is getting into some dire territory for Australia.

The current margin of 38 points would be New Zealand's biggest Bledisloe win over Australia.

After an abysmal opening 40 minutes, the Wallabies have finally put points on the scoreboard.

20-year-old flyhalf Noah Lolesio in his first Test crossed over in the 41st minute following some individual brilliance from Jordan Petaia.

Petaia broke the defensive line and fended off three All Blacks defenders to put the Wallabies in prime position to score when he eventually went down just metres out from the try-line.

A surging Lolesio would immediately find the ball and crash over for the Wallabies' first try of the night.

The Wallabies may have been well and truly dominated in that first half, but they're certainly not acting like it.

Australia's No.9 Nic White says the All Blacks "haven't done a whole lot" despite the fact that they've piled on four tries to nil in the first half.

"Pretty frustrated. No disrespect, but they haven't done a whole lot, it's just been all our mistakes. We're just gifting them points," he tells Fox Sports.

"We just need to do what we know we can do, but we're making too many simple errors.

"If we get into the game with a little bit of momentum and look after that pill in the right areas, we'll do what they're doing to us."

You've got to applaud the mentality, but there is a mighty, mighty task ahead of Dave Rennie's men to overturn this deficit in the second half.

They just haven't been able to get their hands on the ball and force New Zealand into places they don't want to be.

The All Blacks have enjoyed 67 percent of possession in the first half, partly due to the fact that the Wallabies keep coughing up the ball whenever they've had it.

A lot was made of how young the Wallabies went ahead of Game 3, and it's fair to say that the All Blacks have ruthlessly exposed the inexperience in the backline.

Richie Mo'unga has showcased his immense speed to add two tries and this is starting to get a little ugly for Australia after Dane Coles also adds to the scoreboard.

We are just over half an hour into this one and it's now 26-0 to New Zealand.

Rod Kafer on commentary notes that the All Blacks are putting on a "wet weather masterclass" out here at ANZ Stadium.

What an action-packed opening 10 minutes this has been!

Jordie Barrett has now been sent to the sin bin after a dangerous elbow on Australia's Dane Haylett-Petty.

Barrett was breaking away with the ball as Haylett-Petty came from his left to run down the All Blacks star.

In an attempt to fend off the Wallaby, Barrett's left elbow made contact with Haylett-Petty's head and he's been sent off for that.

Just minutes later the All Blacks looked like they had scored their second try of the night through Dane Coles, but the TMO has ruled that he did not have control of the ball on the grounding attempt.

It doesn't take long for the All Blacks to take advantage of Daugunu's reckless mistake as Karl Tu-inukuafe scores the opening try of the match.

Rennie's men have to hold firm here. Five-and-a-half minutes left until they're back to full-strength.

Richie Mo'unga nails the conversion and it's 7-0 to New Zealand.

Australia has been dealt a major blow to start this do-or-die clash with Filipo Daugunu sent to the sin bin with a yellow card inside the opening three minutes.

Daugunu was carded after a dangerous tackle attempt on All Blacks young gun Caleb Clarke as he attempted to catch a high ball while mid-air.

Daugunu rushed in and took out Clarke's legs to send the youngster crashing to the turf and he's a little worse for wear.

There was a little suspicion that All Blacks skipper Sam Cane may have caused the collision after a bump in the lead-up to the tackle attempt.

However, the TMO has taken a look at it and now Australia is down to 14 for the next 10 minutes.
