Israel and Mali share the points
Mali and Israel have drawn 1-1 in their opening Olympics clash.
Cheickna Doumbia equalised in the 63rd minute to set up a tense finish. Both sides had chances denied down the stretch with Israel going close on numerous occasions.
But before a ball was even kicked, officials raised concern over Israel's national anthem being loudly jeered before the whistle blew.
The game began with a massive security presence outside the stadium amid an increasingly strained international climate that has Paris' safety efforts squarely in the spotlight.

The Israel team arrived under a heavy police escort, with motorbike riders at the front and around a dozen riot police vans following behind. Armed police officers patrolled the Parc des Princes stadium, one with a rifle resting on his shoulder. France's Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, and Paris police chief Laurent Nunez arrived at the stadium around 7:30 p.m local time.
"We owe this security to the whole world," Darmanin said. "The threats to our country are the threats that concern the western world."

The atmosphere outside the venue was calm, however. Fans from both countries mingled, holding up flags and posing for photos.
Mali fans sang proudly when their anthem was played first. When it came to Israel's anthem, boos and whistles immediately rang out. The stadium speaker system playing the anthems then got notably louder in what seemed like an effort to drown out the jeers.
Once play began, Israeli players were booed each time they touched the ball. Security officials intervened in what appeared to be a heated argument between some fans. The commotion was near where one woman was holding a Palestinian flag. Two other people holding Palestine flags then stood next to the woman.

France hammers USA 3-0
The host nation added another goal late in the opening fixture of their campaign, to seal a dominant victory.
Defender Loic Bade headed home a flying corner taken by Joris Chotard, to give the home team another goal after captain Alexandre Lacazette and Michael Olise gave them a 2-0 lead.

Thiery Henry's men could have bagged more goals but were unlucky to not find the back of the net.
The US had a goal disallowed in stoppage time when USA substitute Yow found the net with his right-footed strike from inside the box, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
France edges ahead of USA
France has put on the burners in the second half of their opening clash against the USA in Marseille.
The host nation had some chances in the first half but could not convert, with one shot hitting the cross bar.
But they struck gold in the second period, with captain Alexandre Lacazette putting them 1-0 up after a beautiful strike from beyond the box.

The Lyon forward received the ball and took a couple of touches before unleashing a low shot, which travelled to the bottom corner of the goal.
Not long after the French skipper found Michael Olisse to double France's lead, sending a curling left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner.
Tensions rise over Aussie coach's interview
Big news coming out of Australia's swim team.
Tom Decent from The Sydney Morning Herald reports Dolphins coach Michael Palfrey has been "asked for a please explain" over an interview he conducted on the eve of the Games in Paris.
Palfrey is one of eight coaches on the Aussie swim team at the Olympics but also works with rising South Korean talent Kim Woo-min.
The SMH reports after conducting a training session with the Aussies earlier this week, Palfrey gave a poolside interview to South Korean media in which he allegedly said he "really hopes" Kim can win the 400m freestyle on Saturday - a race that also features Australian swimmers Sam Short and Elijah Winnington.
"We need Woo-min to lift, that's what I'll be saying to him. He's got to race tough," Palfrey reportedly said before ending the six-minute interview with, "go Korea".
The SMH reports Palfrey was spoken to by Dolphins head coach Rohan Taylor on Wednesday but may yet face a grilling from Swimming Australia or the AOC.
The report claims a directive was given to Aussie swim coaches in March to end any association with non-Australian athletes before the Games.

Own goal gives Israel lead
After a scoreless first half and some nice flowing end-to-end football, an own goal has given Israel the lead over Mali in the men's football.
Hamidou Diallo scored the unfortunate own goal, after some strong lead up work from Oscar Gloukh on the left edge put the African team under pressure.
Gloukh's cross eventually found Diallo in the centre of the box, with the defender clipping the ball before it rolled into the back of the net.
