‘Not good at puzzles’: JT stumped as second piece of Brisbane 2032 emblem found
NRL legend Johnathan Thurston has unveiled the second element of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics emblem.
But the Cowboys legend was stumped as to exactly what it might be.
JT had no idea what the emblem piece is. Today
“I actually don’t know what it is, to tell you the truth,” he said on Nine’s Today from the top of Townsville’s Castle Hill.
"Being the sunshine state here in Queensland, I think it's probably got something to do with the sunshine."
The piece is similar to the one revealed by swimming icons Ian Thorpe and Grant ‘Scooter’ Patterson in Cairns on Tuesday. Thorpe also said the first piece looked like a ray of sunshine.
Thurston said he wasn't sure how the two pieces would fit together.
"We are the sunshine state, so are they rays? But that would just be too obvious, right? I'm not good at solving puzzles," he said with his trademark laugh.
"Maybe it's just a leaf."
The official Brisbane 2032 emblem is being unveiled over six days, starting with the first piece on Tuesday.
A new piece will be “found” via treasure hunts every day by Aussie sporting legends.
Thursday’s piece will be unveiled in Rockhampton, which will host the rowing competition.
The final piece will be revealed on Sunday, and then the logo itself on Monday.
