Former NRL player Paul Carter is set to face court next month charged with allegedly supplying cocaine to his ex-Roosters teammate Shaun Kenny-Dowall earlier this year.

News Corp Australia reports Carter is alleged to have supplied Kenny-Dowall with the drug at Sydney nightclub, The Ivy, in May.

Kenny-Dowall who was arrested, and subsequently released from the Roosters, last month pleaded guilty in court to having 0.29 grams of cocaine on him.

Carter is due to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on August 28.

Police allege video shows Carter supplying the drug to another man.

Carter played 40 NRL games in total with Gold Coast, South Sydney and the Roosters, since making his debut in 2014.

Kenny-Dowall has since joined the Newcastle Knights.
