Raiders coach left seething, storms out of box after nightmare defeat
Darrin Borthwick was seen storming out of the coach’s box on Saturday afternoon as he watched his Raiders side suffered a 26-20 loss to the Gold Coast Titans.
Ill-discipline was the biggest concern for Borthwick’s team, recording eight errors, conceding eight penalties and missing 37 tackles by the 55th minute.

Hollie-Mae Dodd was looking to make a storming run when her actions tipped her coach over the edge, dropping the ball cold as she was brought to the ground.
Raiders players swept up the loose ball and looked to play on, but referee Kasey badger was quick to rule the ball had been knocked on by Dodd.
As Canberra moved to challenge the call, the cameras spotted Borthwick leaving.
“Well, that’s fair enough,” Paul Gallen said of Borthwick’s reaction on Nine.
“Their discipline all day has been horrible. No wonder the scoreline is the way it is at the moment.”
Gallen was then left puzzled by Canberra’s choice to challenge the knock-on call.
“I don’t know what they are challenging here,” he continued.
“Actually, I think that may all be back ... they could win this.”
Ruan Sims added: “What a good challenge.”
Mackenzie Wiki then found the chance to give her coach something to smile at, powering over the tryline to narrow the margin to 26-10.
But just as things looked good for the Titans, Elise Simpson was carried off the field with a knee injury.
The Titans did eventually lose Lily Patston to the sin bin in the dying minutes of the match, but her absence was not enough to change the result of the game.
Wiki crossed for a hat-trick with less than one minute left on the clock.
Phoenix-Raine Hippi had opened the scoring for the hosts in the 18th minute, before Ivan Lolesio and Georgia Grey bundled over to secure an 18-0 lead at half-time.
Grey crossed for a double on return from the break before Destiny Mino-Sinapati scored the side’s final try of the match.
