NRL set to investigate this vision of Dragons player on bench
The NRL is set to investigate the timing and circumstances surrounding vision of a Dragons NRLW player using her phone while on the bench mid-game on Saturday.
Dragons hooker Nita Maynard-Perrin was spotted on her phone early in the second half of St George Illawarra’s match against North Queensland at Allianz Stadium.

The Dragons are aware of the footage but poured cold water on it, saying Maynard-Perrin was simply in contact with her family after leaving the field injured.
The No.9 had finished up in the third minute after suffering a dislocated elbow.
She was later seen on the bench with her left arm in a sling and was set to go to hospital on Saturday night.
The NRL has strict rules around the use of phones during men’s and women’s matches due to the risk sports betting poses for the game.
When contacted by nine.com.au, the NRL said it would likely probe the timing of the incident and why Maynard-Perrin was on her phone during the match.
There is no suggestion the Dragons player was doing anything improper.
In 2019, Shaun Johnson found himself in hot water during his time at the Sharks when he was seen using his phone in the dressing rooms after injuring his hamstring at Suncorp Stadium.
The star playmaker avoided being sanctioned by the NRL as it was deemed he had only been using his phone to speak with family about his injury.
The Cowboys won Saturday’s game 32-28 and winger Charlize Lloyd-Phillips scored a hat-trick.
