Cowboys rout Roosters despite sin-binning of star
Aliyah Nasio’s stint in the sin bin was not enough to slow down a star-studded Sydney Roosters side, who ruthlessly dismantled the North Queensland Cowboys in a 56-6 thrashing on Saturday.
It was one-way traffic in Townsville right from the kick-off.

The NRLW Roosters side raced out of the gates, crossing the line for a try via Corban Baxter before the first minute had even finished.
Playing with lightning speed, the Roosters team exploited the Cowboys’ poor defence in and around the ruck.
The only real setback for the visitors came in the 24th minute when Nasio was sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes, temporarily reducing her side to 12 players.
The incident occurred after the referee had already blown the whistle for a held call, with Nasio coming down on Cowboys player Alisha Foord.
“This was very awkward here. Foord is in agony on the ground,” Peter Psaltis said on Nine.
“Really, really uncomfortable,” Billy Slater added.
“It was after the whistle.
“This might make it easier for the Cowboys if the Roosters go down to 12 (players) here.
“And there’s no surprise there; (Nasio’s) off to the sin bin.”
Roosters centre Jess Sergis scored a double, as did hooker Keeley Nizza in the 10-tries-to-one victory, with Ashley Marsters bagging the singular try for the home team early in the second half.
The Roosters will face the Bulldogs next Thursday night, and the Cowboys will play the Eels next Sunday afternoon.
