NRL footy tips, Round 6: Andrew Johns, Nine experts give their verdict
The Melbourne Storm sit atop the NRL ladder but rugby league immortal Andrew Johns says that's hiding a fragile facade after assessing their form over the last fortnight.
Friday night's grand final rematch is set up perfectly, with both sides starting 2019 beautifully and sitting first and second on the ladder.
However, while the Storm are the only undefeated side remaining in the competition, Johns expects them to be humbled at their home ground by a Roosters side that has put up a month of impressive form since losing to the Rabbitohs in the season-opener.
In fact Johns told Wide World of Sports he expects "a big win" for the Roosters, with Melbourne to be exposed for their shaky recent form in beating lowly opponents.
"The last two weeks the Storm have just beat the Bulldogs and just beat the Cowboys," Johns said on Joey & Freddy's Tips.
"Now if you have a look at the Roosters' form over the last month, they've been on fire. I've got the start at about 12.5 to Melbourne.
" ... I think the Roosters have got a huge advantage."
Fittler wasn't quite as bullish although he was backing the premiers to repeat their grand final heroics in the rematch.
"I'm looking forward to watching Crichton on the right hand side, that'll be the same side as Munster," Fittler said.
"Crichton's defence against Cronulla last week, not unreal. Hopefully he improves."
