NRL footy tips Round 16: Johns, Fittler and all of Nine's stars give their winners
Rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns fears the Broncos could hit rock bottom with their stars on Origin duty for a tough clash with a Sharks side coming off an embarrassing performance against the Bulldogs.
Speaking to Brad Fittler for Wide World of Sports' Freddy & Joey's Tips, Johns pulled no punched when he assessed Brisbane's makeshift spine, which has undergone a forced revamp due to injuries to Anthony Milford and Tom Dearden and the mid-season departure of Kodi Nikorima.
"The Broncos as we know are in all sorts at the moment and they've lost a lot of players to rep duty," Johns said.
"Young halves Sean O'Sullivan and Jake Turpin, a bench dummy half or dummy half (Turpin) playing five-eighth. Darius (Boyd) goes back to fullback, Andrew McCullough at hooker, I just can't see any points in the Broncos, at most 10 or 12 points. Sharks big win for me."
Fittler shared Johns' concern expecting Cronulla to get back to winning ways after a shock Round 15 loss to Canterbury.
"I'm thinking the Sharks after last weekend against Canterbury. What happened to them? They got their pants pulled down," Fittler said.
"I think that will snap them back into action, so I'm going the Sharks."
